Role of a Live Out Care Assistant

Supporting Our Clients

As a live out care assistant you will work 1:2:1 or as part of a team with physically disabled children or adults assisting them to live an independent and active life.

Duties may include getting the client in and out of bed, washing, dressing, cleaning, shopping, toileting and general household tasks (everyday living activities). It may also be necessary to drive the client’s car and accompany them to work, social events and appointments or even on holiday. Or, if your client is a child, you may accompany them to school.

As a live out carer, you will work shift patterns based on the client’s needs; days, waking nights or sleeping nights. You will be recruited specifically for one client or perhaps work with a small number of clients in a specific area of the country.

A Truly Rewarding Career

Being a live out carer with Active Assistance is a great way to gain valuable experience and recognised qualifications, which are vital to further your career in the health, social or welfare sectors. We have a network of clinical and non-clinical teams to provide training and support you in your role.

All our live out support workers are required to attend and complete our four-day award-winning training courses. The training course includes first aid, moving and handling, medication, food hygiene, personal care. An additional day will be required if you are going to be working with a complex care client where you will be trained on tracheostomy care and ventilation. Care assistants will carry out shadow shifts until signed off as clinically competent. Our training fully prepares you for your first assignment and we provide on-going personal development to ensure career progression is achievable.

I enjoyed the challenge of working with individuals and their different needs, as well as becoming stronger and more tolerant. I liked knowing that I was helping others to lead a more active and independent life”

We have jobs available across the country, please apply using our live out application. Our dedicated recruitment team look forward to hearing from you.
