Role of a PA

The role of the PA is to work on a live-in basis with our physically disabled clients, assisting them with everyday tasks. Care assistant jobs last between one and three weeks and the care work may include getting the client in and out of bed, washing, dressing, cooking, cleaning, shopping, personal care, toileting and general household tasks. It may also be necessary to drive the clients vehicle and accompany them to work, social events, appointments or even on holiday. For more detail on the PA role and care work with Active Assistance please read the job description.

Active Assistance provides comprehensive training in care work, so no previous experience of care work is necessary, although it is essential to have the desire to be involved in a truly rewarding and socially minded career.  There are also opportunities to study towards formal qualifications in care work leading to opportunities to apply for more senior care assistant jobs.

Active Assistance has lots of great live-in care jobs throughout the UK.  It is really rewarding care work as you would be working with adults and children who are paralysed as a result of a spinal cord injury.
